Privacy Policy for Aura Browser
1. Introduction and Scope
Welcome to Aura Browser (collectively, "the App", "we", "us", or "our"). We recognize that privacy is a fundamental human right. This Privacy Policy is designed to provide transparency into our data practices in a format that is easy to read and understand.
By using Aura Browser, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms of this Privacy Policy. This policy applies to all users globally, with specific sections dedicated to rights under the GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (California).
2. Detailed Information Collection
A. Information You Provide to Us
User Feedback: When you contact us via [email protected], we collect your email address and the content of your message to resolve your inquiry.
B. Automated Information Collection (Technical Data)
To ensure the Fast Search and Simple Design functions work across all devices, we collect:
Device Attributes: Device model, hardware manufacturer, screen resolution, and system language.
Operating System: Version and build number (e.g., Android 13).
App Performance: Crash logs, ANR (App Not Responding) reports, and battery usage statistics.
C. Browsing and Usage Activity
Aggregated Usage: We track which features are most popular (e.g., how often the "File Manager" is opened) to improve the user interface.
Search URLs: While we do not "spy" on your content, the browser must process the URL you type to navigate you to the destination.
Local Data: Your History, Bookmarks, and Saved Passwords are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers unless specifically stated.
3. Permissions Explained
Aura Browser requires certain system permissions to function. Here is why:
Storage/Files Access: Required for the Download and File Management features. This allows you to save images/files from the web and view them within the app.
Network Access: Essential for loading websites and performing searches.
Camera/Microphone: Only requested if you choose to use a website that requires video or audio input (e.g., a web-based video call). We do not record without your permission.
4. Third-Party Services and Analytics
We may use third-party tools to help us understand how users interact with Aura Browser:
Search Engines: When you use the Multiple Search Engine Support, your query is subject to the privacy policy of the provider you select.
Analytics Partners: We may use tools like Firebase or Google Analytics to collect de-identified, aggregated data. These partners do not receive your personal identity.
Advertising: We may display non-personalized ads to keep the browser free. These partners may use "Advertising IDs" which you can reset in your Android settings.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Temporary Data: Cached images and files are stored to speed up browsing but can be cleared by you at any time in the settings.
Permanent Data: Bookmarks and history remain on your device until you manually delete them or uninstall the App.
Our Records: Any support emails or communication logs are kept for up to 24 months for quality assurance before being anonymized or deleted.
6. Global Privacy Rights
A. GDPR (European Economic Area)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:
Access & Portability: Request a digital copy of your data.
Correction: Fix inaccurate data.
Erasure: Request we delete any data we have about you.
Withdraw Consent: You can opt-out of data collection via the app settings.
B. CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)
California residents have the right to:
Know what personal information is being collected.
Request the deletion of personal information.
Opt-out of the "Sale" of Personal Information: Note that Aura Browser does not sell your personal information for money.
7. Security Measures
We employ advanced encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit. Internally, we restrict data access to only those employees who need it to provide support. However, users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own physical devices.
8. Children’s Privacy Policy
Aura Browser is a general audience tool. We do not target children under 13. If a parent discovers their child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will delete the data from our systems.
9. Updates to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this policy. If we make material changes (e.g., changing how we use your data), we will provide a prominent notice within the Aura Browser interface or via an update notification.
